GeodesyStrength of Figure

Strength of Figure

Number of Geometric Conditions:
\[ c = (n’ – S’ + 1) + (n – 2s +3) \] Where:
$c$ = number of geometric conditions
$n’$ = number of lines observed in both directions, including the known line of a given figure
$S’$ = number of occupied stations
$n$ = total number of lines in the figure, including the known line
$s$ = total number of stations

Strength of Figure Factor:
\[ F = \frac{D – c}{D} \] Where:
$F$ = Strength of Figure Factor
$D$ = number of directions observed (forward & backward) not including the fixed or known line of a given figure
$c$ = number of geometric conditions
